"Traditional guesthouse construction”

Tran Minh Thai, a passionate supporter of traditional architecture preservation and renowned for the Chúng Pủa Ancient House in Meo Vac, spent over a decade searching for materials to build the Dinh Da H’Mong – Karsterly Rock Lodge.

In September 2022, he gathered skilled H’Mong craftsmen from the local area to build the Dinh Da H’Mong-Karsterly Rock Lodge, a guesthouse designed with traditional H’mong architecture.

Description of Dinh Da H'Mong Guesthouse

The lodge boasts a unique design featuring a stone foundation, a central patio, and a two-story stilt house structure. The wood used in the house was sourced from unused wood from local people and old stilt houses that were being replaced by concrete buildings.

The lodge is dedicated to preserving traditional architecture, which helps maintain the area’s cultural heritage and provides visitors an authentic and meaningful experience. By staying at the Dinh Đá H’Mong-Karsterly Rock Lodge, guests can immerse themselves in the local culture, learn about the H’mong people, and appreciate the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape.

Project: Combining Geopark's Traditional Architecture into a Hotel

Dinh Da H’Mong is a fascinating tribute to traditional H’Mong house architecture. The main house, which is the centerpiece, boasts a wooden framework and a double roof adorned with yin-yang tiles, making it a sight to behold. The indoor arrangement is designed based on local living arrangements, consisting of two bedrooms and one common space that provides a cozy atmosphere for family and friends to gather.

On the first floor of the stilt house is an open living room, equipped with a fireplace and a tea table. Above this house is the dormitory, with its own fireplace and a view of the mountains, garden, and lodge grounds.

For those seeking a more private experience, the second floor offers an additional five private rooms connected by an aisle. Each of these rooms is equipped with its own sanitary facilities, ensuring guests have all the amenities they need to feel comfortable. Furthermore, the stairs leading to the second floor have been adjusted to provide easier access for elderly and young visitors.

In addition to the exceptional architecture, Dinh Da H’Mong offers top-notch accommodations. Each private room, designed with guest comfort in mind, includes a high-quality bed and a private toilet. Guests can also relax in a “Red Dao” herbal bathtub, which is perfect for soothing tired muscles after a day of exploring. The dormitory can comfortably accommodate up to 10 guests for those traveling in larger groups, offering breathtaking views of the mountains and the courtyard.

The stilt house structure is adorned with authentic decorative stone sourced from an abandoned old house in the local area, adding a touch of history and uniqueness to the already impressive structure, making it a truly unforgettable experience for any visitor.
